Shortly after entering comedy on a dare, Melanie was spotted by producers of Def Comedy Jam. Coincidentally, Melanie was laid-off her job at Hughes Aircraft the day she taped her first Def Comedy Jam show. She later went on to tour with Def Comedy Jam and won favorite stand-up female (Soul Train Comedy Awards) that year. She has a style that makes others take notice, a woman’s point of view.
